Mawazine, subtitled 'Rhythms of the World', returns for its 21st edition from June 19 to 27, 2026, spread across Morocco's capital Rabat and the neighbouring city of Sale. For nine days the festival scatters concerts over seven stages, making it one of the largest music events on the planet by attendance.
Its defining feature is access: around 90% of the concerts are free. That open-door policy is why Mawazine routinely draws crowds in the hundreds of thousands, mixing global superstars with Moroccan and Arab favourites in a single sprawling lineup.
The international bill is heavy this year. South Korean K-pop group ITZY brings a major moment to OLM Souissi on June 23, while Major Lazer open the run with dancehall-pop on June 20. Reggaeton star Nicky Jam plays June 22, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema takes OLM Souissi on June 24, and US rapper Tyga performs June 26.
Beyond those names, the lineup stretches across genres with Ninho, Tamer Hosny, Al Shami, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Oumou Sangare and Imany, alongside leading Moroccan artists such as Hatim Ammor. The breadth is the point: there is something for nearly every taste on a given night.
Mawazine runs across seven stages dotted around Rabat and Sale, each with its own character. OLM Souissi is the marquee venue, hosting many of the biggest international headliners, including the ITZY, Rema and Tyga shows.
Other stages lean into Arab pop, Moroccan music, world and traditional sounds, so your evening can range from a stadium-scale pop spectacle to an intimate set of regional music. Checking which stage each act plays before you head out saves a lot of cross-city scrambling.
Because most shows are free and crowds are enormous, arrive early for popular headliners to get a good spot, and travel light to clear security faster. Public transport and ride-hailing fill up around show times, so build in extra travel margin between venues.
Late June in Rabat can be hot, and 2026 has seen an intense Chergui heatwave inland, so carry water and dress for warm evenings. The coastal capital is milder than the interior, but staying hydrated across a nine-night marathon of music is the difference between thriving and wilting.
The 21st Mawazine festival runs June 19 to 27, 2026 across Rabat and Sale, Morocco.
Around 90% of Mawazine concerts are free across its seven stages. Some premium headline shows may be ticketed.
Headliners include ITZY (June 23), Major Lazer (June 20), Nicky Jam (June 22), Rema (June 24) and Tyga (June 26), plus many Arab and Moroccan stars.
