Terminals and orientation
CMN has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, connected airside and by a short walk landside. Royal Air Maroc and most international carriers operate here, and it is the main hub for connections across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
On arrival, follow signs for passport control, then baggage reclaim and customs. The train station, taxis, car rental desks, ATMs and SIM-card kiosks are all reachable from the arrivals level.
Train to Casablanca and beyond
The ONCF train station sits in the basement of the terminal, well signposted from arrivals. Trains run roughly hourly to Casa-Voyageurs (the main station) and on to Casa-Port near the city centre, taking around 30-45 minutes. From Casa-Voyageurs you can also connect to Rabat and the Al Boraq high-speed line to Tangier.
Buy tickets at the station counters or machines. It is by far the most economical transfer, typically well under 50 MAD to central Casablanca.
Taxis and ride-hailing
Official white grand taxis wait outside arrivals. Fares to central Casablanca are commonly around 250-300 MAD; agree the price before departing, as airport taxis often use fixed rates rather than meters. There can be a surcharge at night.
Ride-hailing apps operate in Casablanca and can be cheaper, though pickup logistics at the airport vary, so check current rules. Avoid unofficial drivers who approach you inside the terminal.
SIM cards, money and connectivity
Kiosks for Maroc Telecom, Orange and inwi in the arrivals area sell tourist SIM cards with generous data, usually requiring your passport. This is the easiest place to get connected the moment you land.
Several ATMs and currency-exchange counters are available. Withdraw or change a modest amount of dirhams for the train, taxi and tips, then use ATMs in the city for better rates.
Facilities and lounges
The airport has cafes, restaurants, duty-free shops, prayer rooms and pharmacies. Free Wi-Fi is available in the terminals, though a local SIM is more reliable.
Several airline and pay-per-use lounges operate airside, accessible with eligible cards or for a fee. Allow plenty of time, as security and passport queues can be slow at peak departure times.
Connections and transit tips
If connecting onward, note whether you need to clear immigration; transit passengers staying airside usually do not. Domestic flights to Marrakech, Agadir and others also depart from CMN.
For early or late flights, the on-site and nearby hotels are convenient. Build in buffer time for the train schedule, which is hourly rather than continuous.
